80% Reduction in Idle Noise
The QSB6.7 model of Cummins achieves an 80% drop in noise level during idle operation, setting a new benchmark for quiet marine power equipment. This premium marine diesel generator excels in acoustic performance and is highly favored for high-end vessels such as super yachts. As a top-tier marine generator, it eliminates harsh running noise and maintains a tranquil onboard environment all the time. With refined internal structure and professional sound insulation technology from Cummins, it fully meets the strict noise control standards of luxury marine crafts, delivering an excellent experience for both passengers and crew members in high-end maritime applications.

Single-side Maintenance Access
Both MDC and QSB7E series adopt a practical single-side service passage design for the Cummins marine diesel generator. This thoughtful layout effectively saves valuable cabin space on vessels and optimizes the internal layout of the ship. Compared with traditional designs, this marine generator makes daily inspection, part replacement and routine maintenance much simpler. Service personnel can complete all maintenance work from one side without moving the unit or adjusting surrounding facilities. The human-centric design of Cummins greatly improves maintenance efficiency and brings long-term convenience for the daily operation and management of various marine vessels.

Synchronous Paralleling Function
The Cummins marine diesel generator is equipped with reliable synchronous paralleling capability, allowing multiple units to operate in tandem stably. When several sets of this marine generator work synchronously, the overall power supply stability gets remarkably enhanced, while fuel utilization efficiency is also optimized. This function avoids power fluctuation caused by single unit operation and cuts down unnecessary energy consumption. Benefiting from the precise control system of Cummins, the coordinated operation of multiple units also lowers vibration and noise interference, further upgrading the riding comfort of passengers and adapting to vessels with large and variable power loads.

Full Compatibility with 100% HVO Renewable Diesel
This Cummins marine diesel generator features full compatibility with HVO hydrotreated vegetable oil, a widely used renewable fuel. Users can directly adopt this eco-friendly fuel without modifying the unit structure or internal components. Running on HVO can drastically reduce carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel combustion and lower the vessel’s carbon footprint. This eco-friendly marine generator keeps consistent power output and operational performance when using renewable diesel. Following the global green shipping trend, Cummins’ eco-oriented design helps ship owners comply with environmental regulations and realize sustainable marine operation easily.

FAQ Section

1. Q: What cooling system does Cummins marine generator use?

A: Cummins marine generators come standard with a seawater heat exchanger cooled system (Heat exchanger cooled), including a seawater pump and heat exchanger. For special applications, keel cooling or radiator cooling are optional. A seawater pump is used to cool the heat exchanger, and fresh water is circulated to cool the engine.

2. Q: What is Cummins PT fuel system? What are the characteristics?

A: The PT fuel system is Cummins’ patented technology, and “PT” stands for Pressure-Time. Features include:

No traditional high-pressure oil pump: the fuel enters the injector after being pre-pressurized by the PT pump

Pressurization is completed in the injector: the injection pressure can reach 140,000kPa

Large amount of oil return (about 80%): A large amount of fuel circulates to cool the injector and remove gas from the oil passage

Solenoid valve controlled shutdown: the oil circuit is opened when power is supplied, and the engine is shut down when power is disconnected.
The PT fuel system has a simple structure and low failure rate. It is the iconic technology of high-power Cummins engines.

3. Q: What is the fuel consumption rate of Cummins marine generators?

A: Take a typical model as an example:

150kW unit (6LTAA8.9-GM200): 100% load fuel consumption is about 36.71L/h

360kW unit (QSZ13-G2): 100% load fuel consumption is about 70.4L/h

400kW unit (KTA19-DM): full load fuel consumption is related to load factor
The specific fuel consumption depends on the load factor. It is recommended to operate in the economic load range (70-80% load) to obtain the best fuel economy.

4. Q: How long is the maintenance interval for Cummins marine generators?

A: The recommended maintenance intervals are as follows:

Daily/before operation: Check engine oil level, coolant level, seawater filter, appearance leaks

Every 250 hours: Change engine oil and oil filter

Every 500 hours: Check valve clearance and replace diesel filter

Every 1000 hours: replace air filter, clean heat exchanger seawater pipe

Regular inspection: seawater pump impeller, zinc plug, transmission belt
Generator downtime can be avoided by following regular maintenance.
