1. Q: What is the difference in maintenance between the primary generator set and the standby generator set?

A: The primary generator set (operating day and night) requires strict maintenance based on hourly cumulative maintenance. It is recommended to change the oil filter and diesel filter every 250-300 hours of operation, and perform a third-level maintenance after 1000 hours. The standby unit (which may only run once a month) can have more leeway. A comprehensive inspection of water, electricity, oil, and gas should be conducted every six months or one year, followed by a 5-10 minute no-load test. The three filters (air filter, fuel filter, and air filter) should be replaced every two years.

 

2. Q: Can Volvo generators achieve automatic start and parallel operation?
